The decline of the US is large because the beauty industry is moving away from the US. We’re seeing this in several ways.

First, the number of cosmetic surgeries performed in the US has fallen. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the number of cosmetic surgeries performed in the US fell by nearly 20% between 2012 and 2017. This is a very worrying sign.

Second, cosmetic surgery is no longer a big money-maker. In 2016, the overall revenue of the US cosmetic surgery industry dropped by over 10%. This is a significant decline.

Third, the cosmetic surgery industry is becoming more and more global. Over the past decade, the average price of cosmetic surgery has decreased by more than 50%. This is the result of the globalization of the industry.
